Lead Court Clerk (WCA22026)

Posting Details Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date. The Workers' Compensation Administration assures the quick and efficient delivery of indemnity and medical benefits to injured workers at a reasonable cost to employers.

The purpose of this position is to serve as the records liaison for the agency and assist the Clerk of the Court in carrying out defined projects and objectives. This position analyzes systems and procedures to improve efficient and effective operations for the maintenance and management of court records. This position will monitor the quality assurance functions within the Clerk of the Court bureau to ensure work product and records are accurate and complete. This position will assist management by implementing new technology and make recommendations to improve and standardize procedures and processes. How does it get done? Serve as the records liaison officer for the agency, maintain accurate and complete agency records, coordinate and the storage and destruction of records following State of New Mexico records retention schedule. Interacts with staff to problem solve complex issues that directly impact results of bureau programs. Assists with coordination of docketing and staffing concerns in the absence of the Clerk of the Court. Monitor quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy of the record. Participate in audits to review cases and determine the appropriate course of action. Assists management by implementing new technology and supporting improvements on business processes. This position provides direct support to 3-4 employees, supervision of 3-4 employees in the absence of the Clerk of the Court and routinely interacts with workers, employers adjusters, attorneys and outside agencies. Minimum Qualification High School diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of general office, clerical, administrative, or customer service experience. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling one (1) year may substitute for the required experience. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Drivers License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending, lifting and reaching may be required. Ability to complete assignments with a high level of accuracy within strict time constraints. Frequent use of office machine and equipment. Must be able to lift 25-30 lbs. Occasional travel may be required. Experience using Microsoft Office applications are preferred.
