Monday - Friday (8:00am - 5:00pm) Purpose of this position The Court Clerk IV provides administrative and clerical support within the Criminal/Misdemeanor Division of the County Clerk's Office. This position assists the public, legal professionals, and court personnel by processing criminal case filings, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring procedures are carried out in accordance with departmental standards and statutory requirements. The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a commitment to professional, timely customer service. Instructions on how to submit the video can be found here: https://forms.gle/vEZwYyeAmBZhazw99 Primary Job Duties- Process, review, and file criminal and misdemeanor case documents in accordance with statutory requirements and office procedures.
- Assist customers in person, by phone, and through electronic communication with general information regarding filings, fees, case status, and procedural next steps.
- Maintain accurate and organized records, indexes, logs, and filing systems for criminal case documents.
- Verify completeness and accuracy of submitted paperwork such as complaints, motions, judgments, and bonds, identifying missing information requiring correction.
- Prepare and issue certified copies, criminal background requests, and other official court ‑ related documents as authorized.
- Enter and update case information in relevant criminal justice systems with accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist attorneys, defendants, law enforcement agencies, and members of the public with general questions related to misdemeanor filings and case procedures.
- Coordinate with judges, court coordinators, prosecutors, and internal staff as needed to support daily operations.
- Handle financial transactions such as filing fees, copy fees, and other statutory charges; balance drawer and maintain accurate payment records.
- Provide support during high ‑ volume dockets and assist team members to maintain efficient workflow.
- Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and compliance with state laws, office policies, and procedural requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned within the Criminal/Misdemeanor Division. Education, Experience and Skill Requirements
- Must be able to work in person; this position is not remote
- High School Diploma or GED
- Prior clerical, administrative, court, legal, law enforcement, or customer service experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
- Ability to follow procedures, statutory guidelines, and office policies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact professionally with the public, attorneys, law enforcement, and court staff
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Must maintain regular and predictable attendance and be punctual
- Ability to multitask in a fast ‑ paced environment
- Willingness to learn criminal court procedures and filing processes
- Able to lift up to 30 pounds
