Inc. - 3.6 Charleston, SC Job Details Full-time 15 hours ago Benefits Profit sharing Paid holidays Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Vision insurance Qualifications Adhering to traffic regulations Driver's License Full Job Description Shop Assistant - SA0826 Sanders Brothers Construction is currently seeking Shop Support to assist Sanders Brothers' Maintenance and Shop operations in Charleston, SC. This role will be responsible for picking up and delivering various mechanic supplies, assisting with keeping the shop and surrounding areas clean, and assisting mechanics as needed. Role and Responsibilities Maintain shop and surrounding areas by cleaning, organizing parts and supplies Pick up and deliver materials to all job sites and shops as needed Properly load and fasten materials to ensure safe transportation Follow directions of the purchasing manager Assist with keeping the parts room, shop, and company vehicles clean and orderly as needed Work in varying weather conditions and work environments including dusty, wet, loud noises, etc. Keep company vehicle, tools and equipment clean and orderly, informing management of any safety concerns Comply with all SBCC policies, procedures and safety requirements Perform any other general duties as specified Qualifications and Education Requirements High school diploma/GED preferred. Hold valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record by complying with standards established by SBCC policy Have the ability to obtain DOT medical certification Strong knowledge of tri-county area Experience loading and properly fastening materials on a flatbed or trailer preferred Experience hauling a trailer preferred Must obtain a negative drug test result prior to hire and maintain throughout term of employment Must meet SBCC's employment standards with regards to background checks Must have the ability to stand, crawl and kneel for long periods of time Work environments will vary making it necessary to tolerate weather conditions, such as rain and extreme temperatures. Employees may be exposed to dust, dirt, varying temperatures, loud noises, etc. Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds. Must have Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed. Preferred Skills A current DOT medical card or the ability to obtain one during employment. Basic computer skills including Microsoft office and the ability to read and understand technical prints is preferred but not required.
