Taylor County is currently seeking qualified applicants for Counter Deputy Clerk in the Tax Assessor/Motor Vehicles Department. Job Description This position involves interaction with the public and is responsible for performing a variety of clerical, administrative, and customer service duties in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Accurate documentation and processing of paperwork, data entry, record maintenance, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. Ensuring all documentation is complete, organized, and legible. Due to the nature of the work, the employee may have access to sensitive or confidential information and must exercise discretion in handling such information. Job Responsibilities Greeting and directing customers, answering questions, providing customer assistance, and communicating information clearly and professionally. Attentive to detail and follow established procedures. Work efficiently and adaptably in an environment where priorities and procedures may change. Must have strong organizational skills while remaining accurate and detailed. Ability to gain competency of the TxDMV Title and Registration Manual. Must be mature, independent, dependable, and work effectively with others. Possessing a high level of integrity and self-motivation. Demonstrate clear communication, sound judgment, and professionalism Excellent computer and data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy. Counter Deputy Clerk will operate under the direction of the Tax Assessor, Chief Deputy, Supervisor and Head of Bookkeeping. Job Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in clerical operations and general office work. Minimum of one (1) year of bookkeeping experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills. College education is a plus. Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) is a plus. Starting Salary:
$40,000 annually + benefits Benefits include : 100% county-paid employee medical and dental insurance, paid life and disability insurance, retirement, and paid vacation/sick time.
