ADMINISTRATIVE COURT CLERK - County Clerk
Job Description
Process Class "C" cases appealed from lower courts. Attend court hearings and record court orders. This work will be varied and will involve independent analysis, problem solving and clerical skills. Enters appealed citations into the mainframe computer to generate case numbers and create case jackets. Verifies that all information is accurate. Pulls case jackets for inclusion in court dockets. Notifies all parties of hearing dates and times. Maintains database of pending and disposed cases. Enters disposition information into mainframe computer. Attends court hearings and processes orders of the court. Verifies monthly statistical and financial reports for Class C Appeals activity. Performs the duties of the Class C Coordinator in his or her absence. Receives and processes payments for Class C Appeals, Non-Disclosure, and Occupational License cases. Makes daily deposits and balances case to reports. Assists attorneys and law enforcement officers in their review of Class C Appeal jackets. Assists Class C Coordinator with the monitoring of delinquent accounts including delinquent fine notices and granting payment extensions and issuing warrants for money owed. Cross-trained to assist with Customer Service as needed. Issues and processes subpoenas and warrants to assure the proper movement and appearance of parties and witnesses. Verifies, accepts, or rejects E-Filing of all Criminal Non-Disclosure and Occupational License cases. Performs all other duties as assigned. Associate's degree or equivalent. Minimum of one (1) year related experience. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. Appropriate courtroom demeanor. Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to prioritize and organize workload. Must be familiar with the use of a desktop computer and proficient in data entry, keyboarding, and navigating computer applications. While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to walk, stoop, lift, and stand.
