General Public - G Additional Detail Job Duties The part-time Grade 8 Deputy Clerk is assigned administrative support responsibilities in a high-volume, fast-paced court with frequent deadines. This position is responsible for accurate data entry, scanning and filing court cases, attaching case paperwork, fulfilling copy requests, and supporting special projects. Essential Duties & Responsibilities The General District Court Administrative Clerk is a Deputy Clerk assigned a wide range of technical, customer service, and courtroom support duties. Responsibilites include, but are not limited to, data entry, filing continued and finished court cases, creating finished file folders, moving cases between courtrooms during court, scanning case paperwork, attaching case papers, assisting with copy requests, and locating misplaced files. Additionally, the administrative clerk supports additional projects such as performing annual case archiving, sorting and entering witness subpoenas, sorting and entering summonses, and other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications The most competitive candidates will possess: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Competitive applicants will have at least two (2) years of court, business, and or office experience. Applicants should be detail oriented, highly accurate, and organized. Applicants should have the ability to learn new tasks quickly. Must be willing to assist the public in a courteous and efficient manner and be a team player who assists others. Applicants must have familiarity in the use of Microsoft Office Suite. A minimum data entry speed of 30 w.p.m. is required. Prior data entry experience is a plus. Physical Demands and Work Environment Work is primarily performed in an office and courtroom setting. Duties require the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and operate standard office equipment. The employee may be required to lift or carry items weighing up to approximately 10 pounds.
