Job Summary The Field Office Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) is responsible for developing and implementing security protocols to safeguard information systems. This position focuses on monitoring system performance, conducting security audits, and providing expert guidance on best practices to ensure the integrity of information systems. In addition to the ISSM responsibilities, the FO ISSM is the Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) and/or Assistant Contractor Special Security Officer (ACSSO) and performs duties as directed by the Field Office

to ensure compliance with security operations in accordance with applicable government regulations. Responsibilities Job Duty 1
  • Develop and implement security protocols specific to the Field Office for information systems to safeguard sensitive information and ensure compliance with institutional standards and with applicable government rules and regulations (i.
e, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Intelligence Community Directives(ICD) 705, Department of Defense (DoD) 5205.07, Volumes 1-4, National Security Agency/Central Security Service (NSA/CSS) Policy Manual 3-16, and other regulations related to safeguarding and processing classified information.) Job Duty 2
  • Monitor the performance of information systems by conducting regular security audits and assessments to identify potential weaknesses Job Duty 3
  • Provide expert guidance to Field Office personnel on best practices for information systems security, ensuring they understand their role in maintaining security protocols, while working closely with the FO Manager to be a liaison to government customers and sponsors on GTRI and FO policy implementation and process tailoring, recommending additional safeguards or security tools or process tailoring.

  • Analyze security incidents related to information systems by investigating breaches and proposing corrective measures to prevent future occurrences. Analyze current Field Office security requirements and recommend additions as needed. Job Duty 5
  • Maintain accurate documentation of security procedures and incidents to ensure transparency and facilitate future audits and assessments Job Duty 6
  • Train Field Office personnel on information systems security policies and procedures, fostering a culture of security awareness among all users Job Duty 7
  • Stay current on developments in information systems security by participating in professional development activities and reviewing relevant literature Job Duty 8
  • Provide detailed reports on information systems security status and incidents to senior management, highlighting areas for improvement and compliance Job Duty 9
  • Collaborate with Information Technology departments to integrate security measures into new information systems and ensure that existing systems meet security requirements Job Duty 10
