This role is the first point of contact for members, guests, and the community, and is responsible for administratively supporting the Risen Savior Lutheran Church (RSLC) staff, Board of Directors, Board of Elders along with keeping day-to-day church operations running smoothly. Because we are a small, close-knit team, this on-site position requires a servant-hearted, adaptable individual who is comfortable wearing many hats (e.g., managing office logistics, communications and design, and assisting with congregational events). Religious Organization Statement Risen Savior Lutheran Church is a religious organization affiliated with the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS). Key Responsibilities Administrative Operations Serve as the primary point of contact for calls, emails, and walk-in visitors, providing accurate information and a warm, welcoming presence Manage the church calendar, including scheduling events, meetings, facility use, and pastoral needs; including school scheduling of facility Maintain organized physical and digital records, including membership data, official acts, and internal documents Oversee office operations such as supplies (including kitchen and janitorial supplies), equipment, vendor coordination, and general facility support Support staff, boards, and volunteers with administrative tasks, event logistics, and day-to-day ministry Communications & Publications Design and produce the weekly worship bulletin using tools such as Canva or similar software - ensuring consistent, clear, and on-brand communication Compile and distribute regular newsletters (print and digital), coordinating content from RSLC groups, staff and ministry leaders Maintain and update church communications platforms including website, social media, and email channels Draft and distribute congregational communications such as announcements, prayer chain messages, and ministry updates Events & Community Relations Assist with the logistical coordination of congregational events, holiday and special services, and community outreach programs Prepare worship materials and service bulletins in collaboration with the pastor Provide on-site support for services, meetings, and special events as needed (occasional weekend or evening availability) Qualifications & Preferred Skills Proficient with computers, software, and web-based programs — such as Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and ACS Technologies Basic comfort with graphic design or desktop publishing tools; formal training not required; eye for layout and visual communication Proficient in the operation of standard office equipment Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a small staff team; pitch in where needed and support colleagues across ministry areas Strong written and verbal communication skills Maintain confidentiality, discretion and sound judgement with regard to pastoral care matters, member records, and sensitive church business Degree or equivalent experience; 3-5 years of office management experience preferred Experience in a church, nonprofit, or ministry-related setting a plus
