JOB SUMMARY

The St. Mark's Office Administrator will provide administrative and support services for St. Mark's Lutheran Church, church staff, and lay volunteers, equipping and empowering the community of faith in carrying out its mission. St.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

: Manage the day-to-day functions of the office with confidence and initiative. Receive phone calls and emails during office hours and disseminate information appropriately. Manage master calendar for St. Mark's by processing building usage requests, notifying stakeholders, updating the online calendar, and scheduling electronic door system. Create, design, edit, and distribute all church communications, including but not limited to social media accounts, website, weekly hard copy publications, and digital newsletters. Review and edit staff contributions as needed. Maintain service agreements and vendor contracts for all services performed as needed in conjunction with the property committee. Receive "Building Usage Requests" and manage the scheduling of rooms for meetings and events, including the scheduling of electronic door system. Coordinate and work with volunteers as needed. Use variety of applications to complete essential functions: Microsoft Suite and Drive, Mailchimp, Canva, and more. Maintain church records and assist in annual reports and filings. Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills to identify and correct inefficiencies. Other administrative duties as requested by the pastor, cantor, staff, or council.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

Represent St. Mark's Lutheran Church as well as its mission, vision, and values. Organize, update, and maintain church files in coordination with church staff, church and denomination policies. Maintain professional, positive attitude, and confidentiality always. Network with community partners, organizations, and churches, as necessary. Attend regular staff meetings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED required. 3 years of office administration experience (or equivalent) Willingness to learn and an ability to build effective relationships, relate positively and communicate effectively with church members, lay volunteers, community organizations and partners, and guests with a diversity of personalities and opinions. Proficient use of the English language with ability to edit grammar, spelling, and format. Basic understanding of the Lutheran Church preferred but not required.

PHYSICALEQUIREMENTS

Able to move freely throughout the office and church facility. Able to lift up to 50lbs on rare occasion.

SUPERVISION

Direction and supervision from the Pastor with the Executive committee serving as the personnel committee.

HOURS:

20 hours per week, ideally 9am-1pm Monday through Friday. Flexibility available.
