Overview We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and detail-oriented Automotive Controller/Office Manager to lead our financial operations and oversee administrative functions within our multi- franchise domestic automotive dealerships. This pivotal role combines financial stewardship with office management, ensuring compliance with industry standards while fostering a productive and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for operational excellence to drive our business forward. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to influence both financial health and daily office efficiency in a fast-paced automotive setting. Duties Manage all aspects of financial accounting, including general ledger reconciliation, balance sheet review, accounts payable and receivable, and cash management to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance. Oversee the financial close process, prepare detailed financial reports, and write comprehensive management summaries to support strategic decision-making. Ensure adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other regulatory requirements relevant to the automotive industry and non-profit or governmental accounting standards where applicable. Lead and manage the accounting team, providing guidance on technical accounting issues such as cost analysis, treasury management, and regulatory reporting. Utilize accounting software systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms for efficient data entry, analysis, and reporting; perform Excel data analysis for forecasting and budgeting purposes. Maintain strict internal controls through SOX compliance procedures; conduct regular audits including account reconciliation and balance sheet reviews. Oversee office operations including administrative support functions, scheduling, vendor relations, and ensuring a smooth workflow across departments. Implement process improvements in financial reporting workflows; maintain regulatory compliance accounting standards across all functions. Support payroll processing, expense tracking, and budget management to optimize financial performance. Experience Proven experience in automotive new/ used car dealership accounting. Strong knowledge of financial concepts such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, account analysis, and financial statement preparation. Demonstrated ability to manage accounting teams effectively while fostering a collaborative environment. Hands-on experience with financial software including QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms; proficiency in Excel for data analysis and forecasting is essential. In-depth understanding of GAAP standards along with IFRS regulations; experience implementing SOX controls is highly desirable. Background in managing complex financial reporting processes such as regulatory compliance accounting, international accounting standards, and treasury management. Excellent analytical skills combined with strong organizational abilities; capable of balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
