Job Description

Conscientious, experienced, motivated individual, with extensive managerial experience and preferably a college degree, to manage - with two current managers - three well-established fitness and art businesses, located in Poipu, Hanapepe, and the Mainland. Analytical, problem-solving, and analytical skills are essential. On-site work in Poipu and Hanapepe. No work from home. No travel to Mainland required.
JOB DETAILS
Supervise, with co-manager, four local employees and three p/t Mainland employees + independent contractors. Outside sales experience required, to place, with retailers throughout Hawaii, new cards and books produced by our firm. Keep detailed sales records and initiate follow-up with retailers. Limited sales-related travel to other HI islands probably will be required. Be able to come up with marketing ideas, create a plan of action, and follow through with the plan. Identify maintenance needs and hire/supervise contractors. Complete household/business projects and tasks. Co-manage, with an experienced co-manager, an employer-owned business in Hanapepe. Assist in management of a small Mainland company owned by same employer. Travel to Mainland not required. Conduct research on topics related to construction, events, and products/services. Run errands - for auto maintenance, shopping, business supplies, etc. Write publicity materials, such as newsletter, ads, and social media posts, for business in Hanapepe. Pay bills and maintain business records (need not be an accountant). Must be a current Kauaʻi resident.
QUALITIES AND SKILLS
  • Computer skills (typing; prefer experience with Microsoft Office, Google apps, Quickbooks, Excel)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Management skills/experience: able to work constructively with business owners, co-manager, and full-time and part-time staff
  • Ability to work independently as needed, to complete tasks in a timely fashion
  • Critical thinker, using logic, common sense, and good judgment in reasoning, to identify problems and opportunities, find and implement solutions, and make informed decisions
  • Detail-oriented, diligent, thorough, meticulous
  • Energetic, with a can-do/figure-it-out attitude
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Degree preferred
  • Must be a current Kauaʻi resident.
