Job Description

Full-Charge Bookkeeper & Office Manager We are an award-winning luxury residential interior design firm specializing in resort homes on the Big Island of Hawaii. This is a full-time, in-office position (Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week). Compensation based on experience - hourly with benefits package. We are seeking a detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper/Office Manager to oversee all financial and administrative functions within our organization. This vital role combines comprehensive bookkeeping responsibilities with office management duties, ensuring smooth daily operations and accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in accounting systems and office administration, contributing to the efficiency and integrity of our organization's financial health. Key Responsibilities Manage full-cycle bookkeeping including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries using interior design industry software, Studio Designer. Maintain client deposit accounts and prepare client invoices and reports. Process credit card transactions, deposits, and account transfers. Review monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports. Reconcile accounts regularly to ensure accuracy. Maintain detailed records of journal entries, debits & credits, and account analysis for audit readiness. Oversee office operations including administrative tasks such as scheduling, correspondence, and supply management. Utilize spreadsheets for data analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting. Manage information for sales tax reporting and other regulatory filings. Oversee office administration, insurance policies, vendor relationships, and new employee onboarding. Maintain filing systems, office supplies, contracts, and general office operations. Qualifications Proven experience as a full-charge bookkeeper or in a similar accounting position Solid understanding of double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger management Strong skills in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets), including account analysis and budgeting tools. Proficient using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook Excellent attention to detail with the ability to perform bank reconciliations accurately and efficiently. Knowledge of GAAP (General Accepted Accounting Principles) for accurate financial reporting. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Professional communication skills and confidence working with high-end clientele. Experience with Studio Designer preferred but not required - training provided.
