Job Description

Business Office Manager Primary Responsibilities 1. Financial Management & Reporting
  • Oversee accounting, cash management, reconciliations, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure accurate financial records and compliance with church policies. 2. Human Resources & Benefits Administration
  • Manage payroll, employee benefits, PTO tracking, and personnel records.
  • Support staff onboarding and employment-related administration. 3. Donor & Contribution Management
  • Oversee contribution processing, donor records, giving systems, and annual giving statements.
  • Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of donor information. 4. Business Operations & Administration
  • Manage office systems, business processes, record retention, and administrative workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness. 5. Facility Rental Administration
  • Oversee facility rental agreements, scheduling, invoicing, and customer communication. 6. Leadership Support & Compliance
  • Provide financial and administrative support to church leadership.
  • Ensure adherence to financial controls, policies, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications Three or more years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, nonprofit finance, business office management, or a related field. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Experience with accounting software. Experience managing donor management software or church management systems is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently. High level of integrity, discretion, and ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience with payroll administration and employee benefits. Previous experience working in a church, nonprofit organization, or ministry setting is preferred. This individual is organized, proactive, and enjoys supporting both the financial health and administrative functions of the church. They are comfortable working independently while collaborating with church leadership, staff, and volunteers to further the mission of the church through sound financial management and exceptional administrative support.
