Job Description

This position supports the minister and the day to day operation of the office and building of the First Churches of Northampton, including payroll, rentals management, communications and Quickbooks support. The position will work between 20 - 25 hours a week year-round. In general, the office hours will be between 9:00 AM and 2 PM, Monday-Friday with flexibility by approval from supervisor. Other schedules will be entertained at interview. A perfect job for parents of school-age children, but all are welcome! Minimum Qualifications:
Quickbooks and PC competence extremely desirable.
Education and Experience:
Associates degree preferred, up to 3 years office experience desired.
Knowledge, Ability and Skill:
Working knowledge of office practices, business accounting principles and practices. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and Quickbooks required. Maintenance of online databases and communications systems used by the church. Examples include a calendar of church events and rentals, Zoom, Church Trac database, Sign Up Genius, online member photo directory, and any other communications tools deemed necessary by Pastor. Ability to keep accurate and detailed records, including spreadsheets. Ability to be discreet and keep confidential matters to oneself. Ability to be self-directed. Ability to project a particularly welcoming demeanor as the first point of contact for a faith based organization
Physical Requirements:
Frequent talking, listening, sitting, walking, and mental concentration required; frequent use of hands and fingers in operating/using various office equipment; occasional light to moderate physical effort required to lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds; specific vision requirements for this position include close vision for long periods of time and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to operate a keyboard.
