Job Description

Job Overview The position of Parish Office Manager is multi-faceted. It requires exemplary interpersonal skills, bookkeeping/accounting experience, the ability to multi-task, business administration, and computer skills. The successful candidate will bring the commitment and ability to interact with a wide variety of people in a collegial manner - the church staff, elected officers, council members, parish volunteers, all members of the parish and those seeking to affiliate with the Church. A strong ethical code of confidentiality and a respect for the privacy of the Priest and all people interacting with him is imperative. Accuracy with record-keeping methods is essential. Computer literacy and familiarity with such programs as Microsoft Office/Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn new software as required is critical. An independent self-starter with excellent time-management skills will be the top choice!
Tasks include:
Record parishioner donations and maintain pledge records. Make weekly deposit of cash and checks. Management of funds (memorial donations, restricted monies, scholarship fund). Work with Parish Treasurer to prepare financial reports. Preparation of agendas and reports for Parish Council and Parish Assembly meetings. Use Gusto to prepare and run payroll. Prepare annual contribution statements. Record and pay bills (accounts payable/receivable). Maintain parish calendar.
Assist with fundraisers:
online ticketing, credit card donations, ordering supplies. Answer phones and respond to parishioner requests. Communicate all incoming messages to Priest. Work with Parish Council as directed for newsletters and emails. Maintain kitchen/janitorial supplies. Coordinate the renewal of state licenses for food certifications, tax-exempt status, etc.
Pay:
$25.00 - $28.00 per hour
