Jan-Apr and Aug-Oct With potential for Full time if candidate has strong bookkeeping skills) South Minneapolis | In-office | January-April full-time, August-October part-time | $26 to $40/hour DOE Romer & Company is a small, established CPA firm in South Minneapolis. Our year has two busy stretches, and we need the person who keeps the office running when we can't. The seasonal role is built around those two windows. January through April 30 is full-time, about 40 hours a week. August through October is part-time, about 20 to 25 hours a week, covering the September 15 and October 15 extension deadlines. May through July and November through December are yours. If you can demonstrate strong bookkeeping skills and the ability to manage bookkeeping clients independently we can offer full-time employment. We want the same person back every year, so this is a standing annual arrangement rather than a one-time gig. Both windows are part of the role, and we set the fall schedule together each year around your calendar and our deadlines. What you'll do Manage the flow of returns through the office: intake, tracking, routing to staff and partners Process finished returns: assemble Docusign and physical paper packages (some clients still sign on paper), track signatures back in, e-file, close the file out Handle billing and invoicing: generate client invoices, apply payments, follow up on what's outstanding Client logistics: scheduling, chasing missing documents, estimated-payment vouchers, deadline reminders Run the fall extension list: track what's outstanding and keep returns moving toward September 15 and October 15 Front-office basics: phones, mail, supplies, coordinate cleaners and maintenance for the facility What we're looking for Organized and accurate under deadline pressure. Nothing slips between signature and e-file. Comfortable with numbers and invoicing. No accounting background needed, but you must be careful with dollar figures. Discreet with confidential client information. You'll see everything. The friendly, competent voice clients hear when they call CPA or professional-services office experience is a plus; Docusign or e-file processing is a real plus The arrangement $26 to $40 per hour, depending on experience January through April 30: full-time, roughly 40 hours a week. Heavier around the March 15 and April 15 deadlines. August through
October:
part-time, roughly 20 to 25 hours a week, through the fall extension deadlines. May through July and November through December are off. We'd like you back every year. Same role, same team, no reapplying. Covered by Minnesota Paid Leave 401(k): you can begin contributing once you meet the plan's service requirement. We'll walk you through the details. Why this role We're a small firm by choice. You'll work directly with the two partners, and what you do is visible the same day you do it. There's no layer between you and the outcome. And the shape of the year is the point: seven months of real work in two stretches, and five months that belong to you. How to apply Send a resume and a short note about your experience in a busy office. Tell us whether the two-window schedule works for you. We respond to every applicant.
