this postion requires travel to offices in Grandview, overland park, gladstone, and blue springs/raytown Overview Join our dynamic orthodontic practice as an Orthodontic Practice Manager and become a vital leader in delivering exceptional patient care and efficient clinic operations! This energetic role combines clinical support with administrative oversight, ensuring our team provides top-tier orthodontic treatment while maintaining a smooth, organized environment. You will oversee daily practice functions, support dental assistants and front desk staff, and help foster a positive, patient-centered atmosphere. Duties Supervise daily clinical operations, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Coordinate scheduling of patient appointments, including consultations for orthodontic treatments such as braces or aligners. Oversee dental assisting activities, including chairside assisting during orthodontic procedures and four-handed dentistry techniques. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support the dental team with medical documentation, medical coding, and updating medical records related to pediatric dentistry and general dentistry procedures. Assist with the operation of dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Monitor vital signs of patients when necessary, ensuring safety during procedures involving endodontics or prosthodontics. Collaborate with the team to maintain infection control standards, including sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques. Provide training and mentorship to staff on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and new technologies like medical imaging tools. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations while managing medical documentation and records. Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with a focus on orthodontics or pediatric dentistry. Strong knowledge of EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding and medical terminology is preferred. Competency in chairside assisting, including X-ray procedures, vital signs measurement, and use of 3D scanners. Understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and anatomy relevant to dentistry. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Effective leadership qualities to supervise staff members including dental assistants and front desk personnel. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times. Ability to communicate clearly using dental terminology while maintaining professionalism with patients of all ages—including pediatrics—and team members.
