JOB SUMMARY

The Shipping, Receiving & Warehouse Supervisor leads PRIER's warehouse and distribution operation, directing a team of receiving, shipping, and inventory personnel across a full first shift and a split second shift. This role owns the accurate, on-time shipment of sales orders to a diverse customer base — retail, wholesale/warehouse distributors, direct customers, and e-commerce — while ensuring incoming raw material is received accurately and disbursed to production in a just-in-time (JIT) manner. The Supervisor is accountable for raw material (RM) and finished goods (FG) inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and reconciliations, and serves as the last quality checkpoint before product reaches the customer. Working closely with the Traffic & Logistics Specialist, this position helps manage freight contracts and carrier relationships, balancing quality, service, and cost across every shipment — including domestic and international freight, customs documentation, brokers, and consolidators. The Supervisor coordinates 3PL partners, interplant transfers, and cross-site distribution center alignment, and interacts daily with Customer Service, Production, Quality, and Training. Success in this role requires a strong grounding in lean management principles and the ability to mentor, engage, and develop a high-performing warehouse team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Leadership & Department Management Supervise, schedule, and manage a team of receiving, shipping, and inventory personnel across a full 1st shift and a split 2nd shift. Hire, train, mentor, and develop warehouse staff; adjust staffing levels for seasonal demand fluctuations. Foster an engaged, accountable team culture grounded in lean management principles, 5S, and continuous improvement. Serve as a strong mentor and "Level 5" style leader who builds capability and ownership within the team. Shipping & Order Fulfillment Plan, organize, direct, and control all outbound shipments to ensure sales orders ship accurately and on time (OTIF). Manage order picking, packing, and shipping across a wide range of customer channels — retail, wholesale distributors, direct customers, and e-commerce. Provide verification on sales orders and required Bill of Lading (BOL) documentation to Sales and Customer Service. Manage international shipments, including customs documentation, brokers, and freight consolidators. Communicate shipment availability to customers and proactively resolve delivery issues or concerns. Receiving & Inventory Management Oversee accurate receipt of incoming raw materials, including incoming quality checks and documentation in the ERP system. Manage RM and FG inventory levels, driving inventory accuracy, optimal inventory turns, and minimized carrying costs. Disburse raw materials to production departments in a just-in-time (JIT) manner to support continuous production flow. Own the cycle count program and inventory reconciliation process; investigate and resolve discrepancies. Manage interplant transfers and coordinate inventory alignment with other site distribution center (DC) teams. Coordinate returned goods authorization (RGA) processing and disposition of rejected material. Logistics, Freight & 3PL Management Partner with the Traffic & Logistics Specialist to manage freight contracts and carrier performance. Apply sound logic to balance quality, service level, and cost across all inbound and outbound shipments. Manage relationships with 3PL providers, freight carriers, customs brokers, and consolidators. Maintain freight account setup and attend freight guideline meetings to understand warehouse impact. Cross-Functional Collaboration Coordinate daily with Customer Service and Production Control to prioritize customer and production needs. Partner with Quality on incoming material inspection and "last look" outbound quality standards. Work with Training to develop and maintain department training programs and cross-training plans. Liaise with external freight carriers, 3PLs, and other site DC teams to ensure network-wide consistency. Systems, Safety & Continuous Improvement Utilize the ERP system and barcode technology to record all inventory conveyance and maintain data integrity. Leverage databases and reporting tools to track KPIs and drive data-based decision-making. Maintain a safe, organized work environment (5S) and ensure compliance with safety and quality policies. Maintain functionality of material handling equipment, including preventive maintenance on forklifts. Identify and lead continuous improvement projects for warehouse facilities, methods, and processes, including capital proposals with ROI justification.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Experience & Education Minimum 5 years of experience in warehouse/distribution supervision or management within a manufacturing environment (required). BS/BA in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. APICS certification (e.g., CLTD, CPIM, CIRM) a plus. Technical Skills Proficient with ERP systems, inventory management systems, databases, and barcode technology. Familiar with international shipping requirements, customs management, brokers, and consolidators. High proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook. Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TQM, Kanban systems. Leadership & Personal Attributes Proven leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and develop a team. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills; able to see the whole picture and act decisively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels — intra-department, inter-department, and with external partners. WORK ENVIRONMENT

Warehouse/manufacturing setting; must be able to move throughout the facility and interact directly with material handling operations. Schedule covers a full 1st shift with oversight responsibility for a split 2nd shift.
