Job Description

Job Title:
Controller / Financial Office Manager (Car Dealership)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, hands-on Controller / Office Manager to lead our dealership's financial operations and streamline daily office functions. You will manage full-cycle accounting in QuickBooks, keep inventory and reconciliations accurate, and work directly with ownership and our CPA to ensure total fiscal health and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping & Reconciliation:
Perform QuickBooks cleanup and ongoing monthly maintenance. Manage bank, credit card, and floorplan reconciliations, as well as vehicle inventory tracking.
Financial Oversight & Reporting:
Handle monthly closes, produce P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash-flow reports. Explain financial variances or unusual expenses directly to leadership.
Transactions & Compliance:
Oversee AP/AR, lender payoffs, funding reconciliations, payroll processing, and sales-tax compliance.
Administrative Leadership:
Oversee the Office Manager and manage daily administrative operations to keep the office running smoothly.
Tax & Audit Readiness:
Serve as the main point of contact for our external CPA during tax preparation and year-end closeouts.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in full-cycle accounting and office management (dealership or vehicle inventory accounting experience strongly preferred). Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced MS Excel.
Solid understanding of dealership-specific workflows:
floorplan financing, lender payoffs, sales tax, and inventory control. Strong organizational, analytical, and team communication skills.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
