Job Description Position Title:
Business Office Manager Department:

Administration Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Position Summary:

Provides oversight of and assistance in daily operations of the facility including accounts receivable management, patient billing, accounts payable, and Resident Trust Fund. State's specific background check requirements prior to contact with patients/residents.

Qualifications Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required. BA degree in Accounting or Business is preferred.

Licenses/Certification:

None required.

Experience:

Six months experience in a long term care environment preferred. Three years of experience in accounts receivable, collections or similar area of responsibility. Three years office or administration experience preferred. Essential Functions Establishes and maintains financial files for all residents related to admission, billing, and collection of accounts receivable. Maintains facility licenses and proof of insurance coverage. Completes all necessary documentation and updates applicable system data related to cash receipts, account research and adjustments, transfer of depository cash, and daily census activity. Reviews payment policies and procedures with new admissions and their responsible parties.

• Prepares billing for routine and ancillary services to state agencies, Medicare, Veterans Affairs, private payers and other billing agents. Actively manages collection process for facility. Administers and reconciles resident trust accounts and petty cash at least monthly. Performs month-end close procedures and prepares and submits all required reports. Provides supervision and assistance to the Human Resources/Payroll designee and other business office staff. Other Functions Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company's Code of Business Conduct, its policies and procedures, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards. Performs other tasks as assigned. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge of long term care billing and collection practices and techniques. Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and at all levels of the organization. Ability to organize and prioritize to meet deadlines. Skilled in the use of computers and the Microsoft Office suite of applications. Ability to be flexible in work hours. Ability to be accurate, concise and detail oriented.
