Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Front Office Administrator to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff, ensuring a welcoming and efficient front desk operation. Your expertise in dental administrative support, EMR systems, and health information management will be essential in maintaining smooth clinic workflows. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service while managing check-in and check-out procedures Schedule appointments using dental scheduling software and coordinate with clinical staff to optimize daily operations Verify patient insurance coverage and assist with health insurance inquiries, ensuring accurate documentation review Manage electronic health records (EHR), using Dentrix Ascend for efficient record keeping Collect and process payments related to medical billing and collections, including Medicare and other insurance claims Maintain medical records with meticulous attention to privacy standards in compliance with HIPAA regulations Review clinical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to coding standards for billing purposes Handle phone communication with professionalism, utilizing proper phone etiquette to address patient inquiries and appointment scheduling Perform clerical duties including filing, data entry (10 key typing), faxing, scanning documents, and managing office supplies Support clinical staff by preparing care plans documentation and assisting with administrative tasks related to patient intake Perform end of day/week duties, including submitting deposit information Monitor and work past due accounts, including turning over accounts for collection Experience Proven experience in a dental or medical office environment or healthcare setting with front desk or receptionist responsibilities Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems or dental software a plus Familiarity with medical billing processes, insurance procedures, and health information management practices Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and electronic document management Bilingual abilities not required, but are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion in accordance with HIPAA policies Exceptional customer service skills combined with effective phone communication and professional demeanor Join us in delivering outstanding healthcare experiences!
