Job Description

Enters, and deletes as necessary, all wanted, holds and notifies In the automated and manual records. Contacts solicitors, clerks of Court, sheriff's departments, magistrates and other law enforcement agencies to clarify and obtain information for appropriate entry of detainers as required. Reviews/interprets probation revocation/commitment orders/wanted/correspondence/other documents to determine validity of detainers being placed/removed. Tracks detainers via RCVDOC entries. Forwards copies of detainer documents to institutions for information/placement in inmates' records. Research and responds to inquiries/correspondence from SCDC personnel, law enforcement, inmates, relatives, attorneys, etc. Research and provides technical support to state and federal personnel. Maintains tracking system for detainers from U.S. Marshall Service. Files all detainer documents in inmate's central records. Conducts training as required and provides backup to RCVDOC entry system as necessary. State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and experience in records management, information systems, or office administration.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and two (2) years of clerical experience; OR A bachelor's degree may be substituted for experience. Must have experience in the use of a computer.
