PRIMARY PURPOSE
To assist the Executive Director of Athletics by assisting in overseeing and managing business and financial operations of the athletic department. The office manager will work directly with the Executive Director of Athletics to ensure the athletic department spending is in line with District and State policy. The business manager will need to know UIL rules as it pertains to expenditures and will assist the athletic department with managing and hosting athletic events.
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree Teaching Certification•preferred Athletic Coaching Experience•preferred.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to assist in managing and coordinating the logistics for athletic events for the students of MISD. Excellent communication (verbal and written), public relation, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge and understanding of athletics and the role it plays in developing the whole child. Knowledge and understanding of the change process, organizational development, conflict resolution, and facilitation skills. Exhibit highly effective organizational and consensus building skills. Knowledge and understanding of technology and its use to enhance district efficiency and the ability to meet deadlines.
Experience:
Successful experience as a Coach/Administrator or successful experience in an athletic department, business setting, classroom or a related field as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable..
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Primary responsibility is to assist in monitoring, managing, and maintaining the budgets and activity accounts for the athletic department including 5 HS's and 10 MS's. Work with the Executive Director of Athletics to prepare the budget for each school year. Assist with budget transfers Prepare and submit payrolls for all athletic event game workers. Assist in ensuring all events are properly staffed. Prepare Frontline hiring forms for stadium workers (non-school district employees) Pay officials through Arbiter and Reftown Booster Club Liaison Maintain Contracts for athletic department sponsors Prepare UIL financial reports for all UIL dues and playoff reconciliation Coordinate game revenue reports and game settlements Submit paraprofessional time sheets Assist with special events and athletic activities Manage Facilitron staffing and approvals including payments Help to plan, develop, and implement meaningful staff development programs for all MISD coaches. Assist with the scheduling of all athletic events and negotiation of game contracts. Assist campus athletic coordinators with details involved in out-of-town athletic events. Assist admin assistants with online ticket platforms Perform other duties as assigned.
