Marinette Menominee Area Chamber of Commerce Note:

Position:
Staff Assistant

Programs & Services Location:
Chamber office, 601 Marinette Ave.,
Marinette, WI Status:
Non-Exempt Reports to:
Executive Director/CEO Position Requirements and Qualifications :
Education:
College or technical degree, or a combination of equivalent education/experience in the areas of accounting, business, and/or finance. Chamber of Commerce or Non-profit experience a plus. A willingness to learn and obtain proficiency in Chamber specific software, ChamberMaster, is also required.
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good organizational skills, ability to manage time and projects working in collaboration with Chamber members, committee members and staff. Attention to detail and confidentiality a must. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suites programs and experience in Intuit QuickBooks Pro a plus.
Primary Responsibilities :
Maintains the financial accounting for all Chamber related activities, events, and programs, i.e., posting of incoming payments, issuing and payment of all invoices, preparation of bank deposits, etc. Assists in the implementation and promotion of all Chamber programs and services including the Chamber's scholarship program. Office duties and responsibilities include a broad spectrum of administrative, clerical, and operational tasks necessary to ensure the organization runs efficiently.
Specific Duties :
  • Issuing of membership dues invoices on a monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Issuing of invoices for all Chamber related events, services & programs.
  • Files invoices and check copies to allow for quick retrieval.
  • Responds to inquiries from Chamber members and vendors concerning invoices and expenses.
  • Receiving payments and posting to applicable accounts for the Chamber, Chamber Foundation and Wave Young Professionals.
  • Preparing daily/weekly deposits and dropping off at appropriate institutions.
  • Processes accounts payable invoices.
  • Handles various annual filing and reporting requirements such as license renewals, etc.
  • Updating of Chamber membership database in both ChamberMaster and QuickBooks.
  • Serves as staff liaison for the Chamber's scholarship programs and Achievement in Education award.
  • Assists with the Chamber's Annual Golf Outing, Annual Dinner and Awards Celebration, Community Leadership Academy and all Chamber related initiatives as needed.
Secondary Duties :
General office related duties such as answering phones, filing, mailings, assisting members and walk-in guests, setting up for Board and committee meetings, compiling new resident and Chamber member packages, etc. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director.
Other:
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Supports the mission and vision of the Chamber and helps to promote membership in the Marinette Menominee Area Chamber of Commerce.
Position specifics:
  • Part-time (20 hours per week), M-F 8:30 a.m.
  • 12:30 p.m., however, willing to discuss flexibility in days.
