About Us ABC Storage operates a self-storage facility offering secure, convenient storage solutions to residential and commercial customers. We're looking for a friendly, organized, and reliable part time Assistant Manager to help us deliver excellent customer service and keep daily operations running smoothly. Position Summary The Assistant Manager assists the Office Manager in the day-to-day operation of the storage facility, including sales, customer service, unit maintenance oversight, and administrative tasks. This is a part time position with flexible hours up to approximately 20 hours per week. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys interacting with people, has an eye for detail, and can work independently during scheduled shifts. Key Responsibilities Greet and assist walk-in and phone customers with rentals, payments, and general inquiries Present available units, explain pricing, lease terms, and insurance/protection plan options Process new rental agreements, move-outs, transfers, and payments accurately using the facility's management software Handle collections calls and follow up on past-due accounts per company procedures Conduct regular property walk-throughs to check unit conditions, gate/lock security, cleanliness, and signage Maintain accurate records of unit availability, lock cuts, auctions, and customer files Assist with opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and daily deposits Help enforce facility rules and lease terms in a professional, customer-friendly manner Report maintenance issues, security concerns, or safety hazards to the Office Manager promptly Assist with light facility upkeep (sweeping, trash removal, minor lock/door maintenance) as needed Cover shifts for the Office Manager during time off, as needed Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required 1+ year of customer service, retail, sales, or property management experience preferred Comfortable using computers, point-of-sale/property management software, and basic office equipment Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable handling difficult conversations (e.g., collections) Detail-oriented with good organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license (if facility visits/bank runs are required) Must be able to pass a background check Schedule Approximately 20 hours/week Flexible schedule with occasional weekend coverage needed Schedule may include occasional coverage shifts for vacations or call-outs What We Offer Competitive hourly pay Friendly, flexible work atmosphere
