We are seeking a Cemetery Administrator to oversee cemetery operations, coordinate burial services, support grieving families, and ensure exceptional service to the community. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a lasting impact while managing daily operations, customer relationships, and regulatory compliance. What You'll Do As the Cemetery Administrator, you'll serve as the primary point of contact for families, funeral homes, monument companies, and community partners while overseeing cemetery operations and burial services. Key Responsibilities Guide families through funeral and burial arrangements with empathy, professionalism, and care. Coordinate and oversee burial services, ensuring all details are handled accurately and respectfully. Meet with customers to discuss cemetery plot purchases and burial service options. Conduct cemetery tours and assist families in selecting burial spaces. Collaborate with funeral homes, vault companies, monument providers, engravers, and other service partners. Arrange and schedule funeral services and assist with locating gravesites. Ensure proper placement of headstones, markers, memorials, and decorations. Maintain records, schedules, reports, work orders, and personnel documentation. Process administrative paperwork and support payroll-related functions. Manage inventory and purchase operating supplies and materials. Assist with budget oversight and approve expenditures within established guidelines. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and safety requirements. Foster positive relationships with customers, community members, and business partners. Support workplace safety initiatives and maintain a safe working environment. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Additional education, vocational training, or coursework in Business Management, Public Administration, or a related field preferred. 3 plus years' experience in a client facing administrative role Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work professionally and compassionately with grieving families. Excellent organizational, administrative, and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency with computers and standard office software. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Preferred Skills Experience with budgeting, purchasing, and inventory management. Knowledge of office practices and administrative procedures. Experience coordinating services, events, or customer-facing operations. Strong leadership and decision-making skills. Ability to work independently while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. Work Environment This position combines office administration with outdoor field responsibilities. Work may be performed in a variety of weather and environmental conditions, including: Heat, cold, humidity, rain, dust, and pollen Loud noise and vibration Traffic and moving equipment Exposure to outdoor operational environments Employees are expected to follow all established safety procedures and requirements. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and crouch throughout the workday. Occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds. Ability to work non-standard hours, weekends, and overtime as needed. Normal vision, hearing, depth perception, and mobility required to perform duties safely and effectively.
