Job Description

This position is located at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in Little Rock, AR, with the Nursing Service Line. The purpose of the position is to service as the primary timekeeper for the Nursing Service Line and performs all functions associated with time and leave records.
Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/08/2026. Per 5 CFR § 300.604(c) Advancements to positions up to GS-5: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-5 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non-temporary competitive appointment.
TYPING PROFICIENCY
: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience and/or education requirements, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education s described below:
Specialized Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-04 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Completes mandatory training topics in a timely fashion; maintains timekeeping records in accordance with regulations; performs timekeeping duties in accordance with rules and regulations; supports new procedures or processes for increasing efficiencies and works collaboratively to support change; ensures confidentiality of information obtained in the course of operations in the work area; adheres to proper procedure for leave requests; and develops the skills, knowledge, ability and motivation to support customer service, participation, flexibility, accountability and responsibility in the delivery of patient care.
NOTE:
Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week.
OR, Education:
Successfully completed four (4) years of education above the high school level in any field which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. Transcripts must be submitted at time of application .
OR, Combination:
Equivalent combination of successfully completed post-high school education (beyond the second year) and specialized experience as described above, which meet the total experience requirements for this grade level. Transcripts must be submitted at time of application.
