•$37 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits Mileage reimbursement Qualifications Driver's License Driving Direct support Performing background checks Full Job Description We are looking for a warm, dependable, active person to support a 19-year-old he attends classes at Pasadena City College, builds independence, and explores his interests and possible career paths. Client developmentally delayed. His processing skills are slow. He needs time to think and process information. Reading and writing are very limited for him, this is why he needs a PA. He has a non-convulsive seizure disorder. Family will provide training on his individual seizure response plan. The role includes accompanying him to classes as approved by PCC; helping him organize assignments, plan his time, and follow through on homework; providing medication reminders; supporting communication and self-advocacy; encouraging participation in community activities; and providing transportation to PCC and appointments. Would love someone who can help him try new activities and discover what he enjoys and does well. The right person is patient, reliable, engaging, compassionate and comfortable offering support without taking over.  Must be comfortable with dogs (2 at home location) Knowledge of Dungeons & Dragons is a big plus! Someone who is an athletic caretaker is very helpful! Client is taking pickleball and self defense lessons.

Requirements/Preferred Skills:

Must have a CA valid driver's license, clean driving record, insurance, and reliable transportation are required. CPR and First Aid training are preferred. Mileage is reimbursed at the federal rate (.76 per mile).  2 Professional References

•$37 depending on qualifications This is a W2 payroll position which requires a background check and live scan to be cleared to work with the client. About 2-3 week processing time. A background check at PCC is required to attend classes with client as well.
