In this role, you will be the vital link between our patients, providers, medical specialists, and insurance companies. Your main goal will be to ensure patients get the specialized care they need quickly and smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage Referrals:
Submit, process and track all incoming and outgoing patient referral requests.
Insurance Approvals:
Obtain prior authorizations and insurance verifications from insurance companies.
Patient Scheduling:
Assist with scheduling follow-up appointments.
Record Keeping:
Update and maintain accurate patient information in our EMR system.
Team Communication:
Work closely with doctors, medical assistants, and our team to share medical records safely.
Patient Support:
Answer patient questions about their referrals and guide them through the process.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of experience working in a medical office, clinic, or hospital setting preferred.
Knowledge:
Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance plans, and the prior authorization process.
Tech Skills:
Experience using EMR systems and basic computer programs.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication skills, great attention to detail, and a friendly, patient-focused attitude.
