To perform a wide variety of general clerical duties and responsibilities in support of an assigned office or school site. Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Type a wide variety of documents including letters, memoranda, reports, bulletins, handbooks, questionnaires, requisitions, contracts, and other materials from marginal notes, rough drafts, or verbal instructions. Serve as receptionist to students, teachers, District employees, and the general public; answer inquiries and furnish information requiring a knowledge of basic school standards, procedures, rules, regulations, programs, and policies. Apply District policies and procedures in determining completeness of applications, records and reports; provide information and forms to District employees, students, teachers and the general public; collect and process appropriate information. Perform a wide variety of general clerical work including the maintenance of accurate and detailed records, verifying accuracy of information, researching discrepancies and recording information; maintain and post data relating to attendance, cumulative student records and other specialized records. Register new students; obtain necessary documents and forms; input information into a computer; provide information to students and parents. Receive, sort and distribute incoming and outgoing correspondence. Issue absence and tardy slips; prepare and clear daily absence lists; verify excuses and authenticity of absences. Receive and reply to oral and written requests for information. Assist in other areas at times of reduced office staff or peak periods including in the areas of school clerical and health assistance. Operate standard office machines including typewriters, photocopiers, duplicating machines, telephones, postage machines, and calculators. Perform related duties as assigned.
Experience:
Some general clerical experience is desirable.
Typing Requirement:
Type 40 net words per minute. (A typing test will be administered to verify typing speed)
Training:
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. Application Filing Applications for this position will be accepted online only during the specified recruitment period. Physical Demands The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, squatting, reaching, and twisting at waist; sitting for extended periods; hand and finger dexterity for keyboarding/typing, use of computer mouse and touchpad, and writing instruments; vision and hearing in normal range with or without correction. Working Environment Indoor office environment. Exposure to temperature swings in climate-controlled and outdoor environments; exposure to various noises from office equipment/machines, employees, and public. _______________________________
