The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, a friendly demeanor, and a strong understanding of dental office operations. As a key member of our front desk team, you will be responsible for managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and ensuring smooth administrative workflows. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression. Manage appointment scheduling using dental practice management software such as Dentrix and EPIC, coordinating with clinical staff to optimize patient flow. Verify insurance coverage and benefits and ensuring accurate billing and claims processing Collect payments, process medical collections, and handle billing procedures with attention to detail and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain accurate and organized patient records in electronic health record (EHR), including documentation review and data entry. Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries and routing calls appropriately. Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, data entry, and managing office supplies to support daily clinic operations. Support the clinical team by preparing intake forms, updating medical histories, and facilitating communication between patients and providers. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Proven experience in a dental office or medical administrative support role with familiarity in dental terminology and medical coding practices including
CPT, ICD-9/10
coding. Strong knowledge of dental practice management software such as Dentrix. Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy (10 key typing). Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security at all times. Ability to perform insurance verification accurately using systems like Athenahealth or similar platforms; experience with Medicare is a plus. Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations; English/Spanish Bilingual required. Prior clinic or healthcare office experience along with clerical or front desk experience in a medical or dental setting is required. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review, filing, and medical records management.
