The IFA plays a critical role in supporting student access, engagement, and success by assisting with academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs under the direction of certificated staff. This position requires professionalism, discretion, and a strong commitment to student safety, dignity, and growth. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Specific assignments may vary based on student needs. Provide 1:1 support to a student in instructional, recreational, and school-based activities Assist with implementing instructional and behavioral strategies as directed by certificated staff Support student participation in classroom routines and learning activities Monitor and supervise students to ensure safety and well-being in various settings (classroom, playground, transitions, etc.) Maintain a firm, patient, and respectful approach when supporting students Assist with record-keeping and documentation related to student support, as assigned Communicate effectively and professionally with teachers, staff, and administrators Maintain confidentiality of student records and sensitive information Follow all District and school policies related to student safety and welfare

Proper English usage, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, and punctuation General needs and behaviors of students Academic subject areas and learning environments District and school policies related to student safety and welfare View Job Description Requirements / Qualifications Skill and Ability to: Demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing, and basic mathematical skills sufficient to pass a District-designated standardized proficiency test Communicate effectively in both oral and written forms Understand and follow oral and written instructions Understand the needs of assigned students and respond appropriately in instructional and recreational settings Maintain a firm, patient, and courteous demeanor with students Supervise students effectively in a variety of environments Establish and maintain accurate records and files Analyze situations and take appropriate, effective action Operate standard office and instructional equipment, including computers, copiers, printers, and related technology Exercise tact, diplomacy, discretion, and sound judgment Maintain confidentiality and security of student and District information Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, and the school community Education & Compliance Requirements Applicants must meet one of the following compliance requirements: Associate of Arts (AA) Degree or higher from an accredited college; OR Completion of two years of full-time college coursework (48 semester units); OR Passage of the District-selected local assessment test for Instructional Paraprofessionals Certificates & Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Ability to obtain and maintain valid First Aid and CPR certification within District-required timelines Ability to meet all District employment requirements, including background clearance Training & Experience Any combination of education, training, and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical pathway includes graduation from high school and experience working with children or in an educational or caregiving environment.
