Job Description

Description We are seeking a dependable, personable, and motivated Office Assistant to work in the millwork, carpentry, and cabinetry industry. This is an entry-level contract-to-hire opportunity, with an initial contract period of 2-3 months and the potential for long-term hire based on performance and business needs. This role is ideal for someone with strong customer service skills, a positive attitude, and an interest in the construction, woodworking, millwork, or cabinetry field. In addition to supporting daily office operations, this position also includes a sales support component, communicating with customers regarding wood products, materials, and general product inquiries.
Requirements Key Responsibilities:
+ Greet visitors, answer incoming calls, and provide front desk/receptionist support + Assist with daily administrative and clerical office tasks + Communicate with customers regarding wood products, materials, availability, and general inquiries + Support the sales process by helping customers with product information and directing them to the appropriate team members when needed + Provide friendly, professional, and knowledgeable customer service in person and over the phone + Maintain office and shop supply inventory and help monitor stock levels + Assist with ordering and restocking supplies as needed + Support shipping and receiving activities, including tracking incoming and outgoing deliveries + Organize packages, documents, and inventory-related paperwork + Maintain a clean, organized, and professional office environment + Assist with filing, data entry, and general office support duties + Communicate effectively with office staff, shop personnel, vendors, and customers
Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or equivalent preferred + Previous customer service, receptionist, administrative, office support, or sales support experience preferred + Strong communication and interpersonal skills + Friendly, professional, and dependable + Comfortable speaking with customers and assisting with product-related questions + Basic computer skills, including email and data entry + Strong organizational skills and attention to detail + Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment + Interest in or exposure to millwork, carpentry, cabinetry, woodworking, lumber, or construction materials is a plus
