  • Student Assistants Position Summary One temporary hourly-intermittent work study student assistant position in the Department of Biological Sciences Start Date Position available on or after September 2, 2026 and ending on or before May 21, 2027.
Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance. Job Description/Duties Duties include but are not limited to: Assist in performing general clerical duties; which includes, but not limited to data entry, filing, inventory, answering the phones efficiently, and routing inquiries to the appropriate person. Assist in performing receptionist duties; which includes, but is not limited to assisting students at the reception desk; handling mail and packages. Assist in updating student files. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrates the ability to utilize office equipment (copy machine, scanner, etc). Demonstrates the ability to maintain confidentiality, good attendance, office etiquette, and promptness. Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrates the ability to work under pressure in a large, complex department and answer questions with accurate information. Demonstrates friendly and courteous receptionist skills, and be able to work independently with numerous interruptions. Demonstrates dependability and the ability to follow through on assignments is necessary as well.
Required Qualifications:
Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units. Must have received and accepted Financial Aid award for the current semester/year in which you are applying. Special Conditions CSU requires faculty, staff, and students who are accessing campus facilities to be immunized against COVID-19 or declare a medical or religious exemption from doing so.
