The department of Academic Affairs & Workforce Innovation (AAWI) at RRCC is seeking a Clerical Assistant to sit at the front desk in and be the first contact for students, faculty, and staff. Tasks include, but are not limited to, customer service, answering phone calls, assisting with ticketing interface, filling supply requests, updating inventory spreadsheet, posting cancelled class notices, mailroom for faculty and instructors, copiers, delivery of documents throughout the college for Deans, and staff. You will also assist with special projects in support of AAWI Leadership. May require hours outside of normal work schedule. This is a work-study position. This position may work up to 20 hours each week while class is in session depending on class schedule, need, and budget availability. Student employees are enrolled and contribute to aTIAA-CREF
account when enrolled in less than six credits. This position reports to the Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Academic Affairs & Workforce Innovation. The AAWI office is open Monday-Thursday, 8:00-6:00 and Friday, 8:00-5:00. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to proficiently use Microsoft Office suite products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
- Strong comfort level with people from a variety of backgrounds, as well as a willingness to expand knowledge and skills related to inclusion and diversity.
- Ability to relay sensitive information in a respectful manner and keep information confidential as needed.

- Must be willing to work up to 20 hours a week. Required Qualifications
- Must be an RRCC student and be eligible for a work-study award for the semester the student is seeking employment and maintaining eligibility.
- Must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours) and meet Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements.
- Must have a commitment to equity and quality customer service and the ability to interact and communicate effectively in oral and written form with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook PowerPoint) and have advanced computer skills and experience with virtual meeting platforms (Zoom/Webex etc.).
- Must be reliable, punctual, and have a good work ethic.
- Must be a self-starter with time-management skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work from campus (Lakewood campus location) and be eligible for student employment. Physical & Cognitive Demands The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position.
- Occasionally moves, positions, and transports files and office materials weighing up to 20 lbs.
- This is largely a sedentary role. This position operates in an office environment and constantly uses a computer, and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc.
- The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.
RRCC/CCCS
uses an initial 12-month measurement period to determine medical benefit eligibility, and a 12-month standard measurement period. Student employees are limited to working no more than 20 hours a week, and non-classified hourly and temporary staff are limited to 28 hours in a workweek, depending on budget and need. Sick leave is granted in accordance with SB20-205, Sick Leave for Employees, accrued at one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year. Instructors and non-student hourly are required to contribute to Colorado PERA at a fixed percentage of their salary and do not contribute to Social Security.RRCC/CCCS
