Job Summary Project Assistants / Office Engineers at Meridian Contracting support construction projects through project coordination, document control, administrative support, and communication between field and office teams. This role is responsible for maintaining project documentation, tracking project workflows, assisting with procurement and reporting, and ensuring project information is organized and up to date. This position focuses on project administration and coordination and does not perform engineering design work. Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain project files, records, and document control systems.
  • Track and distribute RFIs, submittals, change orders, permits, and project correspondence.
  • Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with daily project administration duties.
  • Coordinate communication between field personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and project stakeholders.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, take meeting minutes, and track action items.
  • Assist with preparation of project reports, logs, and status updates.
  • Support procurement activities including purchase orders, material tracking, and vendor coordination.
  • Track subcontractor documentation including contracts, insurance certificates, and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with invoice processing, cost tracking, and budget reporting.
  • Maintain electronic and hard-copy filing systems.
  • Support management with special projects and administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Ensure all project records are accurate, organized, and current. Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong organizational and document management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must be willing to travel occasionally to project sites as needed. Working Conditions
  • Work is performed primarily in an office environment with occasional visits to active construction sites.
  • Frequent computer and administrative work.
  • May require occasional overtime, travel, and participation in project meetings. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to walk active construction sites when required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and navigate uneven terrain during site visits.
  • Ability to work in office and field environments as needed.

$20.00 per hour
