03/26/2026 West Hartford Public Schools is seeking an Administrative Assistant to work in the Curriculum and Instruction office.
Duties:
Duties for this position include, but are not limited to the following: Work directly for and supports the Director of Elementary Education Provide additional support for Town-wide Curriculum Specialists/Instructional Coaches/Literacy Intervention Specialist/ESOL/Director of Secondary Education and Assistant Superintendent as needed Preparation of State and Federal grant applications for West Hartford Public and Private Schools and state reports; experience with state grant management system Coordination and preparation of department budget Coordinate and implement district-level purchasing and contracted services for Title I schools, professional development services, and ESOL department Provide additional support as needed
Requirements:
The requirements for this position include knowledge, experience, and ability in the following areas: Prior secretarial experience required including managing the calendar for Director level leader Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with confidential information and a strong attention to detail Ability to coordinate and efficiently manage multiple responsibilities Ability to manage a team as well as coordination across school support staff Strong financial management skills and understanding in Excel and Google sheets Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Powerschool, Google Workspace, MUNIS and eGEMs Effective and efficient data entry and analysis skills, accounting aptitude Excellent salary, benefits, and working conditions.
