Parish Office Assistant Saint Thomas & St Timothy Parish Corporation West Hartford, CT Job Details 1 day ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description The Parish Office Assistant provides administrative support to the pastor and designated staff and serves as a primary contact for parishioners, visitors, and community members. This role requires professionalism, confidentiality, hospitality, and responsive service. Provide administrative support, including phone coverage, appointment scheduling, mail processing, visitor reception, inquiry routing. Participate in maintaining office records, files, and data systems. Coordinate volunteer support for office operations, parish projects, and related activities. Schedule Mass intentions and Sanctuary Lamp requests. Coordinate baptisms, funerals, Masses, and parish events by communicating procedures and coordinating with appropriate contacts. Assist parishioners, visitors, and others seeking information or support. Enter and maintain accurate parish data and records. Maintain sacramental records, respond to record requests, and update Sacramental Books as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Knowledge of and respect for the Catholic Church and its mission. Strong organizational, prioritization, and record-keeping skills. Effective interpersonal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and standard office technology. Ability to use computer networks and internet-based tools effectively. Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records. Professional telephone etiquette and customer-service orientation. Ability to prepare correspondence, minutes, and reports. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work effectively in a small office environment and adapt to changing priorities. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Three to five years of office experience preferred. Physical Requirements and Work Environment Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use are required. Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds. Occasional stooping, bending, and reaching may be required. Work may involve exposure to variable temperatures. Work is performed in a standard office environment using standard office equipment.
