Job Description

The Imaging Coordinator organizes and maintains the daily schedule to meet the needs of patients and physicians of the medical staff at facilities in the Baptist Health Care organization. This position is available as a resource and communicator for physicians, patients, department, and hospital personnel, visitors, etc., regarding the overall daily operations of the department. This position maintains all medical records and files. This position obtains and inputs data required for outpatient appointments, performs functions of film librarian, and communicates reports to physician's offices.

Greets all customers; courteously answers the phone with a greeting, the name of the department, identification and demonstrates and attitude of helpfulness. Transfers calls when appropriate, and takes accurate messages. Check in patient for procedures. Obtains and inputs data for outpatient admitting process. Locates and provides information required by quality resource management for medical audits. Assists physicians in locating films for consultation with radiologists. Performs a variety of administrative functions. Initiates and maintains department files of case records, correspondence, reports and resources. Anticipates equipment and supply needs. Contacts appropriate people for repair of equipment and machines. Monitors waiting room and cleans/organizes when necessary.

Assist in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization. May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
