We are seeking Cafeteria Managers in Training!

NO NIGHTS, NO WEEKENDS, NO HOLIDAYS!

School Food Service is seeking to train our next class of cafeteria managers. Must have reliable transportation. Must come to the School Food Service office in Riviera Beach almost weekly for all day trainings. Paid 16-18 week training program that will lead to permanent employment as a cafeteria manager with a pay rate of $20.19/hour after training (plus supplements). Applicant must have high school diploma or equivalent. Applicants without a college degree must take assessment test and receive passing score. For this next class, the position will not start until the end of July. In order to be hired with School Food Service, you must meet the following qualifications: 1. Knowledge of sanitation and safety requirements in a quantity food service operation. 2. Ability to follow directions, read and communicate in English. 3. Ability to effectively communicate with students, teachers, school administrators and other food service related personnel. 4. Computer literate. District trainings are computer based.

Essential Functions:

1. Participates in onsite training on a rotational basis through Elementary, Middle and High School cafeterias as determined by the department. 2. Participates in classroom training including, but not limited to, ServSafe, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), menu planning, leadership, operations, and financial accountability. 3. Assists in the successful operation of school food service programs which meet the needs of the school in a manner that results in high customer satisfaction. 4. Trains under an experienced manager at assigned schools performing duties for food service programs as well as duties outlined in the Manager Intern Training Manual. 5. May be assigned to temporarily fill manager positions in the absence of the manager. 6. Upon successful completion of the Manager Intern Program, candidates will be eligible to apply for School Food Service Manager positions as they become available. 7. Promotes a positive image for food service programs at the school centers. 8. Maintains a driving record sufficient to obtain clearance to drive a District vehicle. 9. Participates in annual/ongoing training and education initiatives related to the position's food service role as promulgated by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service and evolving department standards. 10. Adheres to department communication protocols and exercises discretion regarding business, personnel, and related departmental matters. In order to be hired with the School District, you must meet the following additional qualifications: 1. Pass a physical demand test where you will need to lift 42 lbs. 2. Pass a drug screen. 3. Pass a criminal background check.
