Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Work closely with the Manager of Enrichment and Engagement to support and coordinate key aspects of House of Hope's robust volunteer program, including volunteer recruitment, orientation, placement, follow-up, record-keeping, recognition efforts, and the coordination of group volunteer projects and service opportunities. Assist with the administrative needs of the Enrichment & Engagement Department to include data entry, promotion, community outreach strategies, etc.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Engagement (Volunteer Program)- Utilize a wide variety of techniques to recruit volunteers, including volunteer fairs, speaking engagements, online postings, and more.
- Periodically facilitate orientation and onboarding of new volunteers through virtual, in-person, and pre-recorded delivery methods.
- Match prospective volunteers to volunteer needs of the organization and schedule initial shift.
- Follow up with prospective and new volunteers through all phases of onboarding to build relationships and improve retention.
- Assist Manager with coordinating a variety of volunteer recognition efforts including the annual volunteer appreciation breakfast.
- Maintain and improve the volunteer database - Volgistics.
- Prepare and distribute volunteer reports to managers and leadership as needed, including volunteer participation, hours, and engagement data.
- Collaborate with public and private agencies at the local level regarding volunteer participation and coordinating group service project opportunities.
- Work with department managers and site supervisors to develop volunteer trainings as needed. Enrichment
- Assist with data entry required for grants and reporting.
- Assist with planning and attend Enrichment Events as requested.
- Assist with miscellaneous administrative duties to support department needs. Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in disaster- or emergency-related duties, as needed.
- Provide support to fellow department team members, as well as outside departments, as needed.
- Perform all duties in conformance with appropriate safety and security standards.
- Attend training, as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
Associate's degree preferred, two to three years of professional experience in volunteer coordination and/or administrative assistance preferred. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Applications. Must be proficient with office equipment. Experience with Volgistics, Google Drive, Trello, and Canva preferred.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexible, results-oriented, self-motivated and creative.
- Strong project management, administrative and organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task, manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion. Maintain client, donor, volunteer, co-worker and agency confidentiality
- Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
- Knowledge about the operation of general office equipment, standard computer-based programs and applications, specifically Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours, as required.
- Ability to maintain clean, well-groomed appearance and dress appropriately for the position.
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record
- Compliance with House of Hope policies and procedures.
