Job Description

Welcome, we are excited you are here. Take a peek at what our beautiful County has to offer - Indian River County The Building Administrative Assistants work as a team to maintain efficient workflows and ensure deadlines are met. Job duties and absences are coordinated to ensure work is accomplished. Performs a variety of advanced clerical functions in support of the building department administrative operations. This is an administrative position, working under the general direction of the Building Official. Annual Budget Preparation. Purchase requisitions, invoice payment processing and Payroll processing. Prepare Condemnation and Substandard Housing reports. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Building Official.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma / GED supplemented by a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience performing a variety of administrative duties. An associate's degree may be substituted for two years of the experience requirement. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for four years of the experience requirement.
Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations:
ICC Permit Tech Certification preferred Florida Notary preferred
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
Knowledge of payroll preparation and processing. Ability to prepare reports, agenda items, and letters conveying key information in a clear and concise manner. Ability to operate various computer software programs. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to deal well with staff and the general public. Must possess excellent customer service skills.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
: Work is performed inside an office environment.
