Job Description

The Temporary Administrative Assistant - Benefits provides administrative support to the Small Group and Individual Benefits Department during the annual open enrollment period. This role assists with benefit application processing, data entry, document management, recordkeeping, and other administrative activities necessary to support timely and accurate enrollment processing. The position requires strong attention to detail, organization, comfort working within computer systems, and the ability to appropriately handle confidential information. Core Accountabilities Benefits Enrollment Processing & Data Entry Enter and process benefit application information within agency and carrier systems. Review information for completeness and accuracy and identify missing or inconsistent information for follow-up. Perform accurate and timely data entry and record maintenance. Assist with tracking the status of applications and other enrollment-related activity as needed. Document Management & Recordkeeping Scan, upload, organize, and file benefit-related documents and records. Maintain organized electronic and/or paper files in accordance with department procedures. Ensure documents and records are appropriately maintained and accessible to the Benefits team. Handle client, employee, and benefits information with appropriate confidentiality and discretion. Administrative & Team Support Provide general administrative support to the Small Group and Individual Benefits team throughout the open enrollment period. Assist with document preparation, tracking, filing, and other administrative activities necessary to support department workflow. Communicate questions, missing information, or processing issues promptly to the appropriate team member. Support other department priorities as assigned during the temporary assignment. Reviews work for completeness and identifies potential errors or missing information. Organization & Time Management Manages multiple administrative tasks and deadlines effectively. Maintains organized files, records, and tracking information. Technology & Systems Demonstrates comfort learning and working within agency, carrier, and other computer systems. Accurately enters, uploads, retrieves, and maintains information within applicable systems. Confidentiality & Professionalism Handles confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion. Demonstrates professionalism and sound judgment in day-to-day responsibilities. Collaboration & Reliability Works cooperatively with Benefits team members and responds appropriately to changing priorities. Follows through on assigned responsibilities and communicates questions or issues promptly. Qualifications Prior administrative, clerical, data entry, or office support experience preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Comfortable working with computers, online systems, and electronic documents. Ability to handle confidential information professionally. Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven, high-volume environment. High School diploma or equivalent required. Performance Metrics Attention to
