Job Description

Overview About Us We are a mission-driven, non-profit healthcare organization focused on delivering compassionate and accessible care to underserved communities. We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Part-Time Front Office Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will help create a welcoming and efficient experience for patients while supporting the daily operations of the clinic. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, compassionate, and passionate about community health.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing patient scheduling and new patient registration. Handling up-front collections and assisting with sliding fee scale calculations. Maintaining inventory levels for front office supplies. Assisting with referrals and medical record requests. Managing the fax inbox, sending faxes, and ensuring proper documentation, Assisting with vendor relationships to maintain good communication for Samaritan Clinic. Answering phones, checking and returning voicemails within your scope of work. Performing copying, scanning, and other general front office duties as needed to support clinic
Qualifications:
Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field preferred. Minimum of 1-2 years of administrative, front office, or patient service experience required, preferably in a healthcare or clinic setting. Experience with patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, or medical office workflows preferred. Experience handling confidential information in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with patients, staff, vendors, and community partners. Ability to learn and navigate Electronic Health Record (EHR/EMR) systems and scheduling software. Proficiency in general office equipment, including printers, copiers, scanners, multi-line phone systems, and fax systems. Basic understanding of medical terminology, referrals, medical records processes, and patient intake procedures preferred. Ability to perform basic financial tasks, including collecting payments, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with sliding fee scale documentation. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy in all patient and clinic communications. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
