MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma/GED or higher education Experience preferred but not required GOAL To contribute to efficient and effective flow of communication throughout the school and to contribute to effective school public relations by prompt and courteous handling of all inquires and visitors.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIESRESPONSIBILITIES
Greet all visitors courteously, determine their needs, check appointments, and direct or escort them to the proper person. Ensure all visitors follow appropriate safety screening protocol when entering the school. Record student's entrance and exit during regular school hours. Notify the teacher of students arriving late per protocol. Ensure students are released only to approved persons as designed in the student information system. Operates multi-positioned telephones to relay incoming and outgoing and interoffice calls. Answers questions of callers according to school policy, takes emergency and school related messages for staff members; and pages authorized personnel over the intercom and paging system. Assist administrators and other office staff with clerical duties as requested. Maintains an attractive and comfortable reception area which includes a student handbook, teacher handbook, weekly announcements and periodicals of general interest. Maintains a listing of all staff members, names, room locations, student names and homeroom teachers. Assist with the student information system and student records correspondence. Performs such other miscellaneous school communications duties or office duties as may be assigned. Dispense mail to appropriate recipients. Call custodians as needed for emergency cleanup request. Relay reported issues to appropriate school personnel. Take bus notes and distribute per school protocol. All other duties as assigned.
