Job Description
About us We are a small but growing United Methodist Church in the heart of Flowery Branch, Ga. The position reports directly to the Pastor and requires flexibility in working with other volunteers. Our work environment is friendly and caring.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office
- Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and other correspondence
- Greet and assist visitors to the church office
- Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings
- Prepare and distribute memos, letters, and other documents
- Maintain filing systems, both electronic and physical
- Perform data entry and update databases
- Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
- Assist with bookkeeping tasks using Power Church Software
- Conduct research and compile data for reports or presentations
- Assist with proofreading and transcribing documents
Requirements:
- Technical School completion for Business Education. Proven experience as an administrative assistant, preferably in a church environment.
- Proficient computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email management.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with financial software apps like Power Church for churches.
- Exceptional customer service skills
