Job Description
Position Summary The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and the month-end close process. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient workflows across accounting functions. The Accounting Manager also supports continuous improvement initiatives and provides leadership to the accounting team. Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable (AP) Oversight Manage the full AP cycle, including invoice processing, approvals, and vendor payments Ensure timely and accurate recording of expenses Maintain strong vendor relationships and resolve discrepancies Monitor and improve AP processes and controls Accounts Receivable (AR) Oversight Oversee billing, cash application, and collections processes Monitor customer accounts and aging reports Partner with sales and operations to resolve billing or payment issues Establish and enforce credit and collection policies Month-End Close & Financial Reporting Lead the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely completion Process journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (or applicable standards) Team Leadership Supervise and develop accounting staff (AP/AR team members) Assign and review work to ensure accuracy and efficiency Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities Strong knowledge of AP, AR, and month-end close processes Experience with ERP systems; familiarity with Dynamics 365 (D365 F&O) is a plus Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Preferred Qualifications CPA or equivalent certification Experience in a mid-size to large organization Background in process improvement or system implementations Key Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and accuracy Analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and leadership skills Strong organizational and time management abilities
