Part-time position - 20-25 hrs/week. Excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, working with people, and making a meaningful difference. The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative and program support to the Executive Director and Member & Volunteer Services Coordinator while serving as a friendly and responsive resource for members, volunteers, donors, and community partners. The TRAIL office is located in the Iowa City Senior Center, 28 S Linn St, Iowa City. What You'll Do Provide day-to-day administrative and office support Support membership enrollment and renewals and volunteer coordination Prepare meeting materials, reports, correspondence, and other documents Provide backup support for Member & Volunteer Services Respond to inquiries and assist members, volunteers, and visitors Maintain accurate member, volunteer, donor, and organizational records Assist with newsletters, mailings, communications, and social media scheduling Help coordinate logistics for programs, volunteer trainings, educational events, and fundraising activities Support donor acknowledgments, grant documentation, and financial recordkeeping What We're Looking For Associate degree or equivalent education and experience At least two years of administrative support experience Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills Excellent attention to detail and follow-through Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate with a team Professionalism, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality A genuine commitment to serving older adults and supporting volunteers
Preferred:
Nonprofit experience; familiarity with donor, volunteer, or membership databases; and experience with CRM systems, Constant Contact, Canva, or event coordination. Why Join TRAIL? Compensation:
Competitive hourly wage based on qualifications and experience, plus prorated paid holidays and PTO and professional development opportunities.
