Job Description

This position is accountable for supporting the staff by performing a wide range of basic clerical/office tasks for the Office of Financial Aid and must be very customer-service oriented. This student employment opportunity supports the development of skills aligned with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Career Readiness Competencies. Through this role, students will strengthen the following competencies:
Communication:
Students build communication skills by practicing clear, respectful, and professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication in a workplace setting.
Critical Thinking:
Students build critical thinking skills by applying judgment, solving problems, prioritizing tasks, maintaining accuracy, and using feedback to improve their work.
Professionalism:
Students build professionalism by practicing dependability, accountability, confidentiality when applicable, workplace etiquette, and respectful service in a workplace setting.
Technology:
Students build technology skills by using department systems, software, digital tools, equipment, or university platforms to complete tasks accurately and efficiently. Greet all callers and visitors in courteous manner. Assist with clerical tasks such as making copies, filing, scanning documents into Image Now. Become familiar with all Financial Aid policies, procedures, and general information in order to assist with telephone and in-person inquiries. Assist students and guests who visit the Financial Aid Office. Maintains an appropriate and professional environment in the reception area of the office. Answers phone calls and directs calls to the appropriate financial aid counselors. Performs related duties as assigned.
MUST BE A STUDENT AT SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY
Must be Federal Work Study E ligible Must Include a Resume and Cover Letter Student must be dependable, professional, and customer service oriented. The student must have the ability to interact with the public in a courteous, business-like manner at all times, while handling/viewing confidential information.
