PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION
The primary purpose of this position is to plan, coordinate, and organize the activities and office of the Pain Management Center. Assists pain management staff in delivery of optimal patient care.
JOB FUNCTIONS

Accurately schedules surgical procedures and office visits. Observes for conflicts and coordinates necessary staff and equipment needs. Proper side or side is identified. Allows for adequate procedure time based on surgeon history or requested amount. Accurately receives and transmits information to and from physician's offices in regards to patient files Collects, processes, and secures physician office co-payments Transmits charge sheets to billing service in a timely, accurate manner Responds to changes in workload and responsibilities Answers telephone promptly, directs calls appropriately, and relays messages Maintains adequate and appropriate amounts of stationary, forms, and office supplies Knowledge of all supplies used in the clinic. Assist with maintaining stock by coordinating courier visits Greets visitors, sales reps, students, and physicians upon arrival. Directs visitors to desired destination Performs various clerical duties such as copying, filing, typing, statistical information gathering, and others as requested Able to manage multiple priorities effectively Stamp and put together patient encounter packets Other duties as assigned

Associate's degree in Medical Secretarial Sciences or related field

Previous secretarial experience. Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with Microsoft Office programs Good organizational and communication skills

Previous secretarial experience in a healthcare setting Certified Medical Assistant
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires a full range of body motion with intermittent walking, lifting, bending, climbing, squatting, kneeling, twisting, sitting, and standing. The associate must help transport patients and be able to lift fifty pounds or more. The individual must have excellent hand-eye coordination with the ability to grasp, push, and pull, have fine finger dexterity and manipulation. The associate must be able to reach work above the shoulders. This position requires corrected vision and hearing in the normal range. The associate must have excellent verbal skills to communicate with patients, physicians, and co-workers.
